3:43pm: Things looked like they were going to turn around at one point. At 3-6 after 9 games, I had won two in a row to bring me to 5-6, which is usually about the point where I wake up and pull away. However, there would be no late night comeback in the cards for me, as I dropped my last two games to go to 5-8 on the night overall.
I don’t even know what went wrong last night, as it wasn’t one thing in particular. I didn’t really take any bad beats. I also didn’t play bad. The other players played as they usually do, I just couldn’t capitalize on their mistakes because of the off timing in which everything good and bad happened.
One thing I did notice from last night is that I got caught bluffing all 3 times that I tried to execute one. I usually smell weakness like a bloodhound. However, last night they weren’t buying what I was selling, and I didn’t have the goods to back it up. I blame most of the night on my bad run pre flop, and the fact that of 25 pocket pairs I got, I was only able to flop a set on one occasion. Last night was just one of those nights where it seemed like they only had a hand when I didn’t, and they only didn’t have a hand when I did.
But that’s OK, because like we discussed — with my cash out system, I’m never “down”. However, unfortunately it looks like I’ll be working for free tonight. More later..
