FAQ

I. Regarding Website

Q. How often do you update this blog?

A. 2-3 times a day minimum.

Q. What times should I expect updates?

A. Blog entries are updated at random intervals, but always at least 2 times a day. Daily Videos and ‘Daily Hot Chick’ are updated generally around 12:00am everyday.

Q. When was this website started?

A. This website was originally started in 2006. This is version 3.0 of holdemforaliving.com. Version 2.0 was a message board, which regrettably took the emphasis off poker strategy. Version 1.0 was a static (non-changing) poker information website, and did not feature a blog at all or any other dynamic content.

Q. Why do you want to help other players get better? Isn’t that less money for you?

A. Because I wish I had resource like this when I was learning. There’s a lot of places to hang out that have to do with poker, but not a lot of them actually TALK about true poker strategy, and I wanna change that. Regarding “isn’t that less money for you?” - Anyone who has seen my sharkscope graph wouldn’t view playing me as a smart business/financial decision. I also trust anyone who truly takes my advice seriously wouldn’t start out playing the stakes I play, and if they’re successful at the stakes I play, they don’t need my advice anyways.

Q. Do you plan to improve on this site at all?

A. Definitely. This is only the beginning. Anything I do in life, I’m always looking to improve. I’m still looking to improve as a poker player, so as you can imagine, as long as there is a demand I will NEVER stop trying to make this site better. I put in about 4 hours a day just working on improving my blog, in addition to poker.

Q. Will there be more video tutorials?

A. Yes, as the demand for me to produce them has gone up, I am currently dedicating some time to work on a series of them for release here, free.

Q. Will this site always be free?

A. All of the advice and tutorials are free and will always be free. However, it costs money to keep this site going, and you can help KEEP it free by clicking on any of the various ads you see throughout the blog.

II. Regarding Me

Q. What’s with the “Jigsaw” thing. Are you “trujm” or “Jigsaw”?

A. trujm has been my online handle since I was 12 years old, which was 14 years ago. My group of friends made a pact when we were kids to never deviate from the name “tru” in front of everything. I was one of the “elite” programmers for underground scripts that a lot of people used on AOL (ever hear of “punters”, “mass imers”, “servers”, “progs”?) If so, just know that I was very heavily intertwined with that lifestyle and crowd for a while. While I’m only still friends with a few of those guys to this day, me and only one of those guys were actually the only ones who stayed true to the word and kept the name. However, my poker alias is “Jigsaw”. So to answer the question, both names are correct — one refers to my poker persona, and the other refers to my life persona.

Even though my stars name is trujm, I’d still much rather go by the name Jigsaw, as there is more meaning behind it, and it’s specifically for poker. However, I understand if too many people already know my by trujm and would have issues calling my by anything else.

So, either one is fine!
