A Bad Beat Story in MY Favor

Cake Poker

2:43am: I never said that I don’t get lucky sometimes. In poker, sometimes you’re on the good end of it, sometimes you’re on the… well, you-know-what end. Most people profess to be on the bad end of it more than the good. It’s just human nature and psychology to remember the bad beats of your career, while forgetting all the little hands that built your bankroll in the first place.

With that being said, I present to you:

“A very sick turn card”

Hand History Here

The hand really played itself. No one in their right mind is folding a pocket pair at 50/100 blinds. At this point in the match, there’s no screwing around. Just because I got it in behind in THIS case doesn’t mean that shoving wasn’t the right play here. I can’t tell you how many times people call with KJ, JQ, J10 at this point in the match just because they see “two pretty paint cards”. Anyways, needless to say one time I was the one who went runner runner on someone. It’s usually the other way around because it’s not too often that I get the money in behind in these things.

Thank you, miracle turn/river combo for enabling me to finish 8-4 on the night.

“Bad Beat Montage”

1:26am: Well, I was bored so I decided to compile some random bad beats that I took across 5-6 different videos. The YouTube version of it is posted above. If you’d like to see the cards better, try the flash version on the menu to the left.

It’s important to have a sense of humor about stuff like this, or else you will become bitter towards the game of poker. And as much as I hate to say it, we all love it - even though it’s a love/hate relationship. Anyways, enjoy the video. Will post more vids later, and an update to my new session today. Last night’s session ended at 13-11. I was content just to get in the win column after the whole day was pretty much an uphill climb.

Guy Gets UNREAL Lucky, Sweeps Me 4-0.

Cake Poker

Funny how I was just talking about people playing me multiple times, and one guy decided to play me 4 times within 30 minutes. Here are his statistics:

zkman 210 -$3 $34 -17% -$622

He then proceeded to win all four matches. 3 out of the 4 losses were pretty bad beats and I NEVER complain about bad beats because I think people in general complain about bad beats too much, but I have to share the 3 heartbreaking hands with you here.
