Live Session Results: -$845

3:26am: Every dog has his day, and today wasn’t mine. In what seemed like an endless loop of miscues, bad timing, and boards that kept killing/counterfeiting my hand — I had my first live losing session in the last two months, and the day finally came to an end as I lost with a set of aces and finished down $845.

It was one of those days where it seemed as if I shouldn’t have been in the hands that I played, and I should have played the hands that I folded. Another big problem for me tonight was that every time I had a big hand, the board completely fell on top of me. 5 out of the 6 times that I had a hand strength of two pair or a set, the dealer put four-to-a-straight on the board, and 4 out of those 5 times one of my opponents had the card that completed the straight.

Days like this don’t happen often for me, as I usually win 76% of my sessions in 2-5 NL live over a 4 year sample size. However, tonight I was completely at the mercy at the cards — or lack thereof and could not catch, literally, a single break.

On a lighter note, I have started my heads up session 2-0 and have won 6 in a row. I am playing heads up during the day tomorrow, and will give it another go at a live session tomorrow night. Good luck to everyone playing in between now and then.
